Registering to Vote--Who & How
If you are 18 years old, a U.S. citizen, and a resident of Liberty County you may register to vote. Sixteen and seventeen year olds may preregister and will receive their card in the mail after their 18th birthday. You are not entitled to register if ....
* You have been adjudicated mentally incapacitated with regard to voting in Florida or any other state and you have not had your rights restored pursuant to law. * You have been convicted of any felony by any court of record and you have not had your right to vote restored pursuant to law.

In order to register to vote you must complete a Florida Voter Registration Application. A currently registered voter may use the Florida Voter Registration Application to do the following:

Address Change
-
Party Change

Name Change

-
Signature Update
With the implementation of the Florida Voter Registration System (FVRS), which is a statewide database of all registered voters, a voter who is currently registered in another county and moves to a new location within the state of Florida will now only be required to complete an address change instead of a new registration. A voter registration application must be completed indicating the address change. (See On-line registration in right column. )4

On October 29, 2002, federal legislation called the Help America Vote Act of 2002 (HAVA) was signed into law. Florida legislation was passed to incorporate HAVA into our own election laws. One element of HAVA requires that individuals who register by mail on or after January 1, 2003 and have not previously been registered in the state of Florida and do not qualify for one of several exemptions, must provide a copy of a current and valid identification along with their mailed application. (See How to Vote for a list of acceptable identification.)
MILITARY & OVERSEAS VOTER INFO
Military and overseas voters may register to vote and/or request absentee ballots with a Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) which may be obtained from the Unit Voting Officer. An On-line Federal Post Card Application (OFPCA) may also be completed, printed and signed, then mailed to the address below. |

How to Obtain an Online Registration Form
The Florida Voter Registration Application Form is used to register to vote in the State of Florida. The link to the new online version is found below. In order to register to vote in Florida, a citizen must swear or affirm an oath and sign the voter registration application form.
When you have completed the form, you must print it and sign it, then return it to the Supervisor of Elections office for Liberty County at the address noted at the bottom of this page.
Important: Your application will not be processed until the signed copy is received by the Supervisor's office.
NOTE: If you are registering by mail, you have never voted in Florida, and you have not been issued a Florida driver's license, Florida identification card, or Social Security number, you will be required to provide additional identification prior to voting the first time. This copy should be mailed along with the application in order to avoid delays at the polls. [See How to Vote for acceptable forms of ID (Florida Driver's License and Florida ID do not apply in this situation) and list of those who are exempt.] If your application is complete and you qualify as a voter, the Supervisor of Elections will mail you a voter information card as official notification of your registration.
